In Italy “pizza a legna” (wood-fired pizza) is available everywhere, but it wasn’t until IL FORNELLO opened their first Toronto restaurant and offered this authentic style of Neapolitan, thin crust pizza that Torontonians were able to experience pizza the way it was meant to be prepared, baked and enjoyed.

But Italians are passionate and proud of all of the fantastic, rustic dishes they love and we are too, so we offer much more than just “Toronto’s Best Pizza”. At IL FORNELLO we believe that simple, fresh ingredients, prepared and cooked with love and passion become truly great dishes, from pizza to pasta to entrées and more.

IL FORNELLO was not only the first restaurant to bring wood-oven baked pizza to Ontario, we were also the first to offer alternative options for customers with special dietary needs like gluten-free pasta and pizza crusts, to offer menu items created from 100% local ingredients and we were the first restaurant chain the be listed as one of Toronto’s Top Ten Restaurants by Zagat Guide.
